Baby at 26 Weeks Pregnant
This week, about half of baby’s energy will be used for brain growth, which means you’ll soon have a Baby Einstein on your hands.
His eyes are starting to open. He can now notice light. You can start playing peek-a-boo through the tummy. Just kidding, that probably doesn’t work.
Baby will start filling out with fat over the next few weeks. He’s developing the rolls that everyone will find so cute once he’s born.

Mom at 26 Weeks Pregnant
She’s probably feeling like a blimp by this point and will need your help doing normal activities. Help out with things like groceries, lifting things, taking things up and down stairs, and maybe even tying her own shoes.
She’s tired, experiencing back pain and will probably be feeling signs of bloating by evening.
Her body isn’t the only thing out of balance; her emotions may feel like a roller coaster ride until, well, for a while. She’s in a glass case of emotion; be careful how you respond to her irrational behavior.
At least she probably wants Taco Bell at odd hours now. Treat yourself to whatever Doritos-inspired Franken-burrito they’re selling this week.
Pregnancy Tips for Dad at 26 Weeks
Have you gained some “sympathy weight” yourself? Perhaps some after dinner exercise is needed. Try and stay away from foods that are high in sugar and fats.
More than likely, you’ll be able to feel some kicks now (not from your bump…from your partner’s).
Sing to the bump. See if baby starts dancin’.
Keep going with her to doctor appointments. You’ll love every time you hear baby’s heartbeat.
